Marimar 2017 Blanc de Noirs Dona Margarita Vineyard Sonoma Coast Sparkling Pinot Noir
Press "Made from 100% Pommard-clone grown on an estate vineyard, this is a focused, lightly fruity wine that tastes of sea spray, wet stone and a touch of cherry cola. While dry, it develops a pleasing richness on the midpalate that carries it through the lifted finish"
Marimar Estate Vineyards & Winery, named after proprietor Marimar Torres, sits in the rolling hills of Green Valley in the Russian River Valley, Sonoma County. Marimar began planting the vineyards in 1986 and in 1992 she built the winery in the style of a traditional Catalan farmhouse. She currently cultivates 80 acres spread over two vineyards near the Pacific Ocean, in the Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley AVAs. All of the wines produced are single vineyard and the winery prides itself on its commitment to the environment. The entire winery and the two houses on the property are 100% solar-powered; waste is recycled and compost is used to fertilize the vineyard; and cover crops provide an ideal habitat for beneficial insects that are natural predators of harmful pests, amongst other sustainable practices. The winery has the sustainability certification granted by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance.
