Château De Chamilly 2016 Montagny 1er Cru "Les Burnins" Côte Chalonnaise

Ensconced in a beautiful green valley in Burgundy's Côte Chalonnaise, the Chateau de Chamilly is an impressive estate located 20 minutes south of Beaune. It was built during the 17th century by Noël Bouton (lieutenant general of the armies of King Louis XIV, Governor of Strasbourg and Marquis of Chamilly), on the foundations of a 14th century fortified farm. Les burnins is named after the Benedict monks of Cluny who, dressed up in their "bure" dresses, worked this parcel known as one of the best in the area.

93Pts WE "Château de Chamilly 2016 Montagny 1er Cru "Les Burnins": From one of Montagny's top premier cru vineyards, this is dense and textured as well as richly fruity. The fermentation followed by aging in wood have enhanced the wine's complexity, offering pear flavors, a tight texture and a flinty edge. Suggested retail $45"

Serving Suggestion: Creamy chicken with wild mushroom; feuilleté de saumon, swordfish baked with leeks or goat's cheese.
