"Wet pebble and lemon on the nose are shy and subtle. It is on the palate that the salty, savory crushed herb sensations unfurl. There is crushed yarrow and sage dissolved in lemon purity and edged with salty yeast. This is sleek, concentrated, taut and brimming with flavor"❣️
"Every wine has it's maker, ...created in perfect harmony with nature
Birgit Eichinger, as a winemaker, exercises great care, consistency and flair, while being deeply rooted in her homeland - the Kamp Valley. Her wines are the embodiment of elegance and strong character. Great wines are close to Birgit's mind and heart. She stands for progress not stagnation and individualism instead of mainstream. She finds her inspiration and support from her husband, Christian and daughter, Gloria.
We only step in to ensure that each wine variety develops its distinctive flavors, reflecting the delicate symbiosis of climate, soil and grapevines in its purest form.
The name for this site is derived from the hazel bush, which thrives under the same moist conditions as the vines. Seeing as the hazel bush makes up a large part of the landscape in the region, this vineyard has been known by the name ,Hasel' for generations. Its soil consists of Löss that formed in the last Ice Age. Through the high pressure from the glaciers, it meant that rocks such as quartz, limestone, mica and clap particles were pulverized. The loess soil traps moisture and creates a reservoir ensuring that the soil rarely ever dries out. The Hasel' is situated on a south sloping middle-high hill , providing the ideal climate for the consistent cultivation the classic Grüner Veltliner from the Kamp Valley"
